Last week my Momma turned 54!
She is proud to age and is grateful to see another year.
My siblings and I do not take my Momma's birthday lightly.
We learned early that my Mom expects us to intentionally show her love on the day she was birthed into this world.
One year when my brothers, sisters, and I were teenagers we did not put much effort forth into making my Mom's birthday a special one.
My Mom sat us all down and told us that it hurt her feelings and she feels like she deserves extra love & planning for her birthday.
My siblings and I did not take this conversation lightly.
We heard the heart of a hardworking, loving, and single Mom of 5 kids.
Now every year we plan in advance for her birthday and we give her a NICE gift . Gifts are her Love Language.
We have not disappointed her since that unforgettable conversation.
This year we blessed her with a family breakfast, a trip to Tiffanys, and made a family outing to the Academy Arts of Science in San Francisco.
Mother loved it ALL!
