InstaFriday: The 1st half of January

I have become some what addicted to Instagram. I love how I can capture a lot of special moments, make them look extra pretty, and share it with many within a couple of minutes! Here is our 1st half of January:

I started the year with choosing a word to guide me through 2013. Gratitude

I have been trying to eat right from the beginning of the day. I believe if I start strong I could possibly finish strong!

I actually wore something other than workout clothes the other day. I want to "Get Dress" more this year.

I want to be more resourceful this year!

I want the kids to have another year of being cavity free!

My Husband started the year off right by gifting me with these!

I captured the kids catching a balloon from the sky! Just precious!

We had our 1st Playdate of the year with JJ's #1 friend!

They are too much for me!

We had the Playdate at a sweet local shopping mall with a play area.

The Boy has been sporting the Christmas pjs and loving them!

Mr. Wonderful took the Girl to get yogurt and she did not want to leave.

This is one of the scariest pictures I have taken. It's where my husband got into a serious car accident last week. Gods protection is amazing.

Mr. Wonderful was laid up for 5 days and we then finally got out the house.

The kids were so cute as they wanted to imitate people in the stores trying on shoes.

While in the car they acted like they were sleep. We need some acting classes!?

The Boy has been in love with puzzles and the Girl loves destroying her brothers hard work.

One of my favorite Cosby episodes aired and the kids fell in love too!

We made a trip to BestBuy and the girl wanted to play hide & seek.

Oh how I love Naptime, because it means My Time!

It rejuvenates me for what I love more, playtime with my Boy & Girl!

Gratitude for Life

Last Wednesday around 0845 pm my husband was on his way home from work. He got into a car accident that left him 100 feet down the side of a freeway. When I arrived to the E.R. I was told no one was seriously hurt, Mr.Wonderful was not scratched, and neither was the car.
My Father In-law went to pick up the car from the towing company the next morning. The company told him that the police had made a mistake and did not see the damage of the car in the dark. Mr. Wonderful took out an emergency yellow phone pole(which damaged the hood of the car), busted 2 tires, and the entire back window shattered.
We no longer will see that car but I still have my Mr. Wonderful. He blacked out during the accident, has whip lash, and is very sore.
Gratitude,my word for the year has been expressed over and over to God!
I am grateful that in this post I am not sharing how my husband got seriously hurt or that I am now a widow. Just writing that W word gives me chills. I have no doubt that the Lord placed a hedge of protection around him last Wednesday night. I can't tell you how many times my eyes have watered over the last couple of days over my husbands existence.
Take the time today and forever to cherish & be grateful for your loved ones. I still have a Husband.
Life is such a miracle everyday. My kids still have a Daddy.

Mr & Mrs Signs

It has been 2 months since we got the keys to our house. I have been having so much fun working on each room! I especially have enjoyed working on our bedroom. Our bedroom is the only room where no toys are allowed. I have made it a point to tailor our bedroom specifically for us. I wanted to make a Mr. And Mrs. sign.

What I Used:

Black Canvas Boards
Bling
Tacky Glue
Paint

Directions: I glued the bling to spell Mr. & Mrs.

Next I painted on the canvases I'm His and I'm Her.

I let them dry for about a hour.

I then hung them on their respective side of the bed. Lastly, I called the Mr. in the room to show them off. He loved them!

Word for the New Year & a Year of Pictures

Last year my word of the year was consistency.
I enjoyed always having that word in the back of my head
to push me to be consistent in every area of my life.
This year my word of the year will be gratitude.
Gratitude: The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

This year as I inhale blessings I want to exhale gratitude.
I want to be grateful for what I have.
I believe gratitude makes life sweeter.
Comparing kills joy.
I will make a choice to not look at what everybody else has around me, but focus on what the Lord has given me.
If I look at what I have in this life, I'll always have more.

If I look at what I don't have in life, I'll never have enough.
I want to come to a state of contentment.
I always thought that once we owned a home I would not want anymore.
I have come to realize that I will always want more.
But its just that, a want.
When I step back, I know I am blessed with everything that I need and more!!!
God has been so good to me, that I just can't tell it all.
I realize that gratitude and the mindfulness that goes with it, are developed skills.
Everyday I want to take time thank God and others for all that they bring to my life.
I also want to appreciate the little things in everyday life.
The things that typically pass me by because of business.
I want to be thankful for the material and non-material things in life.
I want to pause,
Observe,
To listen,
To be.
I know that transformation will happen as I develop a strong muscle of Gratitude.
I am excited to see myself more happier and resilient,
my relationships strengthened,
my health improved, and stressed reduced.
I know all this will come with an attitude and perspective of Gratitude !
